Ginataang puso ng saging is a traditional Filipino dish originating from Occidental Mindoro. It's made with a combination of banana blossoms (puso ng saging), diced pork, and chili peppers cooked in coconut sauce. Other ingredients include onions, garlic, vinegar, salt, and pepper.

The onions and garlic are sautéed, and when they're soft, banana blossoms are added to the mix, followed by vinegar, coconut milk, and chili peppers. The combination is simmered until the liquid is reduced, and the dish is then seasoned and served warm, traditionally with steamed rice on the side.

                                    Adobong Pugita

Adobong pugita is a traditional Filipino dish from Occidental Mindoro. This adobo is created using mature octopus that has been cooked in a vinegar and soy sauce mixture. Garlic, onions, oil, and bay leaves are all common flavoring elements.

The octopus is marinated, drained, and then tossed in a skillet with garlic and onions that have been sautéed. The dish is then seasoned with salt and pepper before being served warm with steamed rice on the side. The secret to success is to boil the octopus fast, as overcooking turns it rubbery and chewy.

Occidental Mindoro is an agricultural region focused on food production. Rice production (Oryza sativa culture), a Philippine staple crop, is its economic foundation. It is the province's most popular activity and source of seasonal employment, with about 80% of the population, including children, participating.

Rice, corn, onions, garlic, salt, and fish (both wild and cultivated) are some of the province's relatively considerable surpluses that can be exported. Occidental Mindoro's other traditional exports include mangoes, cashew nuts, frying bananas (saba), and various other fruits cultivated in upland plantations. Peanuts, cassava, sweet potatoes, ginger, and other minor varieties are also grown in some sections of the province.

Let us go to Occidental Mindoro! It's more fun in the Philippines, It's more fun in OccidentaMindororo.
